Spectacular bridge provides scenic views of the surrounding area

The 25th of April Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) is one of the longest suspension bridges in central Europe. In fact, it is the world's 20th longest suspension bridge. The drive across the Tagus river on this bridge provides many scenic views. Beneath the bridge there is a marina and several bars.

The 25th of April Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) was built in 1966. It is often compared with San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge due to a similar appearance. There is a good view of the bridge from the Christ (Cristo Rei) monument, located across the river.
