Description

Museum contains artifacts important to Portugal's water distribution system

Museu de Água (Museum of the Water) contains exhibits showing the history of the water distribution system, including pumping stations, aqueducts, and resevoirs. Many of these items were "retired" from public service and placed directly into this museum.

Museu de Água (Museum of the Water) is near the ancient walls of the Convent of Barbadinhos, which is the site of the first Steam Pumping Station. Guided tours can be arranged in advance. There are also historic documents and photographs and here is a museum shop on the premises.
