Description

Located in an 18th-century palace, this museum showcases the city's past, from its prehistory to the early 20th century. Explore the blue-tiled rooms with archaeological artefacts, and view a model of Lisbon before the 1755 Great Earthquake (once the ground-floor renovations are completed). Admire the friendly peacocks that wander around the free Bordallo Pinheiro garden, where massive ceramic creatures peek out from hedges and cling to the walls.
