History of Lisbon's trams and other forms of public transportation
Museu da Carris (Rail Museum) explores the history of Lisbon's trams and other forms of public transportation. Of key interest are the beautifully restored historic trams, some of which are put into service for special occasions.
Visitors may enter certain trams to view the inside and photographs are allowed. Museu da Carris (Rail Museum) opened in January of 1999. It is closed on Sundays and holidays. There is also a museum shop. A guided tour (in Portuguese) is available.
