Large, modern arena designed by Portuguese architect Regino Cruz
MEO Arena (Pavilhão Atlântico) large arena designed by Portuguese architect Regino Cruz. It was built for Lisbon EXPO’98. During Exposition it hosted a show titled “Oceans and Utopias.” The appearance of the building was designed to resemble a cross between a marine animal and a spaceship.
MEO Arena (Pavilhão Atlântico) is now used for many popular sporting and entertainment events. It can hold up to 20,000 spectators. It is located inside Lisbon’s Parque das Nações development on the shore of the Tagus River.
